General descriptionThe firm was founded in 1932 and continues under the name of its founder, the late Nicholas O'Dwyer. In 1970 the firm commenced practising internationally and since then projects have been undertaken in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean. The firm engages in development works covering hydraulics and irrigation, highways and bridges, water supply, water pollution control, irrigation and urban and regional development. The firm provides project management from feasibility study to implementation stage, right through to training and initial project operation. The firm is registered with the majority of the International Funding Agencies and has been entrusted with more than forty projects funded by the World Bank, the European Development Fund, United Nations Development Programme, the African Development Bank, the Development Bank for Southern Africa and the Arab Bank for Development in Africa. Work has also been carried out for USAID and under the Irish, Dutch, German and Japanese Governments' bilateral aid programmes.Key personnel
